I dream my painting and I paint my dream.

I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead;
I lift my lids and all is born again.

© Iva Borisova
Am I chasing dreams in circles?
One ends another starts
Beginning after the end
I fancy many faces
Each peculiar than other
To live so many lives
Each different than another
Can I swim in all the oceans?
Not all at once, but
Maybe one at a time.

Yes I crave all of it
Lights sounds visuals and touches
No strings of times and spaces
Across the length and breadth
Height thickness contrast and bright
All of it runs in circles
Concentric and conjoined
Can I mill around them all?
Not all at once, but
Maybe one at a time.

Photographs

Photographs are a way of imprisoning reality...One can't possess reality, one can possess images--one can't possess the present but one can possess the past.
~ Susan Sontag, On Photography

A woman of not more than fifty, did everything what women used to do
full of drama, vigor and shades, like some character of an epic she was
tales with in tales in her discourse, but calm and composed was her visage
one day a panhandler roamed around, long he roamed and came to her place
after smelling the decorum and grandiose exterior of her well kept space
with parched throat he started asking for water, food and some old regalia
she was a woman of charitable and kind heart, gave food  at that instant
up she moved in the room  less touched, stocked with old materials and stuff
opened one by one the kind of suitcases and trunks that are no longer used
full of old-fashioned robes and garbs, so many still packed and unused
picked few up from a stack of such and gave the man away easily enough
she came back to the room again, a journey to the memory lane began.

Trunks crawling with dust, so much dust, and fragments of time gone by
her heart raced so fast when on bundles of photographs she laid her eyes
one after another and another she emptied them all, decanted all the relics
souvenirs of failures and successes, of puerile naughtiness and tricks
meetings and separations, constructions and deductions brick by brick
layers and layers of memories uncapped, elated as if a gift she just unwrapped
so old and fragile, some torn monochrome pictures of her mum and dad
she's sitting in the mid, unaware of all that's to come, with  a baby face
girl she grew up with, and the next door boy with whom she always fought
class photographs and the pictures of every prize and gift she won and got
snapshots of gone realities still imprisoned here, reminiscing so profuse
tears were rolling out her eyes, gates of dam just opened, tears on loose.

An envelope was sitting there waiting to be opened by her teary hands
on a little touch, from it fell down an old portrait picture of her husband
one which was sent to her when they were to married, good old ways
the grin on her face, it was to remain on her face through out the day
thinking of times when they used to forget there lives a world around
and then the baby pictures, suddenly she could hear their crying sounds
snippets of times when they first talked, crawled around and walked
whole of her life lying in front of her, in these bits and pieces of papers
upon closing her eyes she thought of what was she, what became, what now ?
sighed, sighed again, she smiled, of all the choices she ever made, how ?
for every choice, she had a face in mind, a lesson she learned and passed down
for time runs so swift so rapid, its restless pinions witness generations passed.

Her photographs, frozen retentions of all that happened so sudden and fast
happened but forgotten, happened but ignored, happened quick and passed
those times were never erased, all etched deep and preserved with paper and ink
past is worth clinging to, to remind us how far we've come in life and living.

A photograph can be an instant of life captured for eternity that will never cease looking back at you ― Brigitte Bardot

Forget Me, Forget Me Not

"I don't wanna remember this crappy thing, not even for a single day". I've lost track of the number of times I repeated that sentence in my  life. Tried to console myself that from today onwards this chapter is closed... for eternity. But, do you really able to forget ? Then there are times when you want to freeze and say-" Let's not forget this" But, do you always able to recollect ? Answer is... at least in my case a big NO

How do you lose a word? Does it vanish into your memory, like an old toy in a cupboard, and lie hidden in the cobwebs and dust, waiting to be cleaned out or rediscovered?
~Amitav Ghosh

Some say that there's this thing called sub-consciousness and that's the place where all mysteries of memory that are beyond our understanding lies. I say- " Who Cares" when time comes this foxy memoir of yours play its card and all you do is deal with the consequences irrespective of good or bad.

walking down the alley
plugged-in, listening songs
I saw a boy with a bunch of boys
red-tee wrapped around his waist
he looked like some hooligan, a total waste
bemired clothes and colly hands
holding a puppy, he made a puppy face

back in time
saw myself  in that same alley
with similar dirty dress and sounds
I was with my dog, rallying around
damn he's dead now and damn I hate that boy
I miss my dog, my spanking toy

People say so many things
so many people come and go
you process them all
some faded, some jaded
imprinted on your wall
you repaint or scratch
spot's never vacant again
and there isn't a train of thought
my friend
you won't be catching again :)

CHAOS

According to the Oxford Dictionary 'Chaos' literally means- A state of extreme confusion and disorder. Extreme randomness.....too random to make any sense. Don't think even for a second that Random Scribblings is  going for the same extreme randomness :P  I'm writing all this in full sense and not at any ungodly hours but at 6.00 PM in the evening.

By 'chaos' here I mean the anxiety, the uncertainty,  the possibility and probability of newness. The puzzled and qualmish state (in good sense) to experience something out of box. Things beyond the floors and ceilings. A phase of boundlessness and no-limits.

What’s this miraculous hack?
It’s a simple one: let go. Let go of control and allow yourself to be swept away by the powerful currents of life. Let go of planning and embrace not know what will happen. Let go of productivity and be open to new ideas, new opportunities, spontaneous creativity.

A place to go
where I've never been before.
Butterflies fluttering inside
eager to know what's outside.
Not a moment of silence
just the noise and urge
to take more, to see more
feeling of elation and devour.

Fragrance of inspiration
scope of novel creations.
Possibility of exploring
a treasure
with just bare hands.
Feasibility of fabricating
a castle with
pebbles and dry sand.

Leave behind the
monsters of details.
Let the veil of odds unveil.
Make the things slide
For a moment of change.
Let them derail.
One step forward from
this era of pre-defined 'Time'
Sometimes this ticking time
becomes fuckin foe of mine.

Friedrich Nietzsche says - You must have chaos within you to give birth to a dancing star.
I say- Lets have this chaos with in us. Order and arrangements and rules are good ( no doubt in that) but too much is always bad.... Sometimes lil derailment from the regular things is not only good but it's vital.
What do you guys say ??

Collateral Damage

War gives you a horrible feeling that -"Winning a war is as disastrous as loosing one".
Results of a war are disastrous.. millions of lives gone and what left is generations of grief and sorrow. We grew up playing video games like "Medal of honors", "Call of duty", "Gears of war" and so many others. We enjoy them a lot but reality is far far away from fun or enjoyment. With war comes COLLATERAL DAMAGE. Poor lives of war-ridden areas will give you clear picture of what kind of damage war brings.

Ernest Hemingway says -- "They wrote in the old days that it is sweet and fitting to die for one's country.  But in modern war there is nothing sweet nor fitting in your dying.  You will die like a dog for no good reason but Collateral Damage."

Tanks, Snipers,
Armed Helicopters
Demolition Bombs, Rocket Launchers.
Shaking grounds, thumps of
marching platoons.
In reality it is scary
only looks good
in video games n cartoons.

Soldiers with body armors
moving in perfect line.
Chaos every where
an abominable lull
nothing looks benign.
Shattered homes,
pulverized lives,
lost n crushed hopes
malice and malign.

On the name of power shift,
political gains and orders.
They drop, catastrophe
on millions of lives of others.
Instructions conceived, designed
in an AC room.
To wreak havoc,
and spell of dooms.

Large populace of the world
living in refugee camps.
Dreadful lifestyle
voluntarily,
they were forced to attempt.
Babies in the belly, in the hands
fasting daily, a fashion
a forced trend.

No one is responsible
for the causalities
as each party is a sage.
Inculpable residents
enclosed in a
country-sized cage.
In this mayhem
they have no reservation
or a mark like Under-age.

Real masters are hiding
somewhere far away
undercover n backstage.
These poor, worthless
people are nothing but
Collateral Damage.
just
Collateral Damage.

Time flies

"Time flies on restless pinion.. With unimaginable speed"  ~Friedrich Schiller

From few days back I've been reading Indian history and eventually I realized that time travels with a great speed. Its like a flick of a second and a full series of events occur in the whole world. Single human life looks like a speck when compared to the rich, diverse and highly colored history of mankind. Historians say earth is just few years old and this forged an idea in my mind that time just flies. Time can act as a great teacher in our lives. We can learn a lot from our past. It teaches us numerous tricks to excel in the events ahead.

With nay anticipations
events betides on the life scale.
When you look back
they are mere
anecdotes or
nanny's tales.

Time flies with turbo-speed.
You gaze that tree
from your window
which was once a seed.
Life is short
smithereens of Kalpa.
It's just few years back
When we were
natives of Harappa.

Mouryans flourishing.
A new culture, new era
to partake.
Buddha delivering speech
Making us awake.
Guiding, to realize our
sins and mistakes.

Ashoka the Great
Jack of all trades.
He was crowned sometimes back.
From the acumen of Akbar
Even "great" ones
were taken aback.

Ohhhh, for few days
misfortune was profound.
Shackled and slaved
every Indian was found.
We fought a long battle
In minds, as well as on grounds.

And the day came
when world was astound.
gaiety and happiness
all round.
Time flies, without making a sound.
A venerable teacher
for intellective unbound.
