A Soldier's Cry

A soldier's reaction after he thinks hard about the internal conflicts of his country. When he looks around, all he sees is corrupted system, stained politics and illogical disputes perfectly imbibed n camouflaged . All he  thinks is that --- >

Toughest, not tough enough
to deter me.
Roughest, not rough enough
to unnerve me.
What creeps me, are
the enemies inside.

I swear
Outsiders can never harm
my country. But I worry
as I see everyday
loudmouthed leering Lucifers
roaming around
walking free.

Suspected, yet unseen.
Their slates are too clean.
Well disguised in appearance
they seem, innocuously serene.
Faulty system, filthy politics
Signal them green.

I stand here, securing borders
with cold, watchful, vigilant faces
But potential enemies, harboring
Inside, well secured
In some complicated hiding places.

“Blame Game” new sensational
National Game. Morbid curiosities
Rising high
I want you all to
listen to this Soldier’s Cry.

Wake up your dormant senses.
Smell this reek of enemy inside.
Its time- time to find out
plausible hidey-holes of
perfectly fake humans.
Flourishing on our soils
spoiling nationwide.

  2. Excellent and well perceived from a soldier state. It’s just like kicking someone on his back when he supposes to defend one from enemies. It’s quite dishonoring the precious life that lost for our living.

    Greatly penned Jyoti!!

  4. Very well depicts the present state of affairs! Also, it makes the life of a solider even more difficult when employed for insurgency to fight his own kin!

  5. Refreshingly real Jyoti! Those whom we trust to take care of the government are lining their pockets. They maul each other for the biggest cake. Those soldiers who place their lives in danger protecting the nation just wonder why this state of affairs is allowed to happen. Great verse!

  8. As with all your poetry, this is raw and powerful. I'm intensely patriotic and while I never believe that war is any answer to any problem, I will always, always support our armed forces when they are on active deployment. They are unsung heroes on a daily basis. With your words, you do them a lot of honor.

    Loving you, sweetheart! <3

  16. Jyoti,

A very factual statement and not very far off from what a soldier guarding nation in freezing cold may be thinking. If this stat of affairs goes on & on then day is not far when you will not have anyone to stop outsiders coming in to rule us again. Hope this voice of yours kindles some conscience in people at the helm of our nation.

    Take care

  23. True indeed, we can safeguard our country from enemey outside but the enemy inside would always be happily safe, rejoicing his freedom. It seems pathetic sometimes when we reaslise how we ignore and overlook the terrible corruption and everything that ruins the country inside.

....Very true...Our soldiers can defend the country from outside enemies, but we will have to fight ourselves the enemies who are weakening the country from inside. Inspiring thoughts beautifully expressed.
