As saying goes " Every coin has 2 faces" i.e every situation has two sides. But we have a propensity for neglecting, not looking and understanding the other side. We fail to look beyond the information we gather from our own perception.
Overwhelmed by our own perception
Acute reception and
Well calculated misconceptions.
We tend to neglect
Flip Side
Open and wide
the other side.
We hardly exert ourselves
To look and feel
the other side.
Or its apt to say
Forget it...
Why we even try.
We are right
Ever shining, sparkling bright
How can the opponent
ever be correct ?
No way
they can never be right.
That's how we think
That's the way we deal
Other one is Wrong
It's a universal feel.
Somewhere in the sub-conscious
what lies is - Conscience
We shall use that
from Time to Time
Thinking from both sides
than only we should decide
What is wrong ?
What is right ?
Not much
but at least we can try
To give a thought on
Flip Side.PS: This post in no way related to my previous post Empty Hearts and it is also not related to the political turmoil going on in the country. This is an independent post about natural human behavior.

ReplyDeletei love it...
:)
seriously!
did you write that poem?
I am pretty sure I did :)
ReplyDeletewow nice... I can feel the emotion in the poem by reading it
ReplyDeleteWhat I like about your work is that it is so all-inclusive, no one is left out. The lines of division that we all paint (or are painted for us) are too often neglected as the obstruction to unity that they are. I hope that people who read this can take a look at their refection. I hope that I too can stay aware of my own close-mindedness, and crack open the mental-window, when needed. Not all is black and white in life. The "Flip Side" always has something to share. Very nice, Jioti. Kudos to you.:)
ReplyDelete...but at least we can try
ReplyDeleteTo give a thought on
Flip Side"
Exactly!and i agreed with your thoughts in the poem.
Very very nice!
Regards.
If our mind has lot of open area, our flip side becomes less important.
ReplyDeleteIt is relevant and very good poem.
I always enjoy visiting your world, Jyoti. You string together thoughts in that lyrical quality, yet you avoid the triteness that can sometime accompany poetry. I appreciate the message you've conveyed here. I've often said myself that if people would step back from insisting on "winning", and focus more on communicating, people would have a lot less turmoil. Very timely message, sweetie!
ReplyDeleteMuch love,
Dawn
amazingly beautiful and quite interesting too :)

It's a universal feel....
Fully agree ... we also thought always like this .... wonderful writings ...
wonderful thoughts. We see only one side, which suits our convenience, to justify our acts. We never think that the other side may also be beautiful. A very thought provoking creation..
ReplyDeleteBeautiful creation with a lovely message in it.
ReplyDeleteBest post I read today so far. :)) Very nice and meaningful
ReplyDeleteWell written. Kudos, keep the job up.
ReplyDeleteHi, kinda new to this space.. :)
I love it....It is wonderful. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteTake care.
Agree with you on everything you said. We often misjudge situations and think stereotypically. It only leads to unpleasant decisions or future regrets. This awareness comes with experience and age. I know analyze things before I open my mouth/react and I am doing pretty well at it :) Great writing Jyo.

very nise both side of coin hav same imp ==============if i see only one side its dont called coin thats called a khota sikha
This is so true!

Fantastic piece. Great.
ReplyDeleteYou are soo right Jyotimi. If only we evaluate issues from both sides, there will be less hurting and more harmonious relations.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully penned Jyoti. Really loved the way you write!
ReplyDeleteKeep blogging :)
सही -गलत का निर्णय हमारा विवेक ही करता है.आत्म विश्वास को सुदृढ़ बनाने से विवेक भी सुदृढ़ होता है .
ReplyDelete"thinking from both sides"...yes, to look at things not only from our perspective but the other person's also. What a wonderful thought! Very nice poem!
ReplyDeleteVery impressive,Jyoti
ReplyDeleteRegards, विवेक जैन vivj2000.blogspot.com
Beautiful...there is a simplicity to this thought of " Flip Side"...
ReplyDeleteLearn to walk in the other persons shoes..then decide...as you say flip..side...perspectives may then change...or not...then you can agree to disagree...
And sometimes...you may be saying the same thing...just in a different way...
Nice rendition of the Human Condition...
but at least we can try
ReplyDeleteTo give a thought on
Flip Side.
-------
We must try to give a thought to Flip side....nice creation .....Dr. Monika Sharma
Hello Jyoti,
ReplyDeleteVery well written with a meaningful photo. Most of the time most of us don't look the other side and take decisions based on ego and at the spur of the moment without thinking of the consequences.
Best wishes,
Joseph
Jyots , flip side gave me another thought ,it tells me second chance ,another chance.. Brilliant writer you are..!

ReplyDeletevery true Jyoti! Liked the poem! :)
ReplyDeleteGood post Jyoti .We over emphasize our own point of view .WE forget "only perception is true ,what is being perceived may be wrong also .'"The neurological process of observation is never absolute .Thanks for such good posts .
ReplyDeleteamazing post Jyoti...thats a great thought...we definitely tend to forget the flip side...
ReplyDeleteCheers!
SUB
True, and yet we often fail to recognize the flip side. We turn a blind eye to it thinking it to be either non-existent or totally wrong, but sometimes, rather half of the times, it is the right one.
ReplyDeleteNice read.
Cheers,
Blasphemous Aesthete
Well said Jyoti. To empathize is often one doesn't think of.
ReplyDeleteA clear view of the Flip side!
The flip side is usually heads.
ReplyDeletenice poem..
ReplyDeleteGreat insightful post, we should always be aware of the other side as no one is correct 100%. An open mind works best for sure!! Take care!!

this is very true.....the heaven and hell lies in our hand our thinking and our actions.....everybody shud grow outwardly in order to enjoy the holy bliss......
.....mano ya na mano jyoti has depicted the truslf of common man we meet in a very lucid way ....very beautiful....A BLACK PART OF INNER US WHICH WE WANNA KEEP N ALWAZ SHOW WHITE......
Wow! This is really creative, Jyoti! =) You are so talented!! =) This one really made me think and it's so uplifting because we can focus on the flip side when things are down in our lives.
ReplyDeleteGood observation! This one is the very idea which perhaps has given rise the concepts of relativity in science and "Maya" (Illusion ) of Indian spirituality. It all depends the eyes and angle of viewer-nothing is an absolute truth! You see the things from your own perspective only paving the way for a flip side. The 'difference of the scene' in question is in fact the difference of the outlook-दृष्टि भेद से दृश्य भेद होता है!..and not the other way round! Exhilarating write-up!
ReplyDeletevery true ...
ReplyDeleteGreat post Jyoti... It is so true that we fail to see the other persons viewpoint. You have penned the poem really from the heart...
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day:)
:) true
ReplyDeleteapplicable to all those events you mentioned but did not inspire you too..
lines of deep thoughts, nice and beautiful.
ReplyDelete...this is a clever piece Jyoti... you've played it so well...very appealing to soul and mind.
ReplyDeleteGood day.
~Kelvin
You've got me thinking ...
ReplyDeleteWhen the flip side flips and misses, you end up with added complexity, that's for sure! ;)
Really interesting ... and true... so many heart breaks... arguments and bitterness could we avoided if we could look at the flip side in the same instant as we are thinking from our view point... If we could only count arrows sent by us while counting our wounds... at the same time... we could have saved ourselves from loosing more than only blood.
ReplyDeleteTake care... nice thought stimulating subject
its interesting
ReplyDeleteand it happens with all of us
we want ourselves to be right everytime in every discussion
bt we shld think that
har sikke k 2 pahlu hote hain
What is wrong ?

Not much
but at least we can try
To give a thought on
Flip Side.
Not only emotional thoughtful too.

wonderful post. I like ths idea of

actually, everything is relative eg. true/false,right/wrong,dark/bright,ethical/unethical,day/night,shame/fame and so on ,nothing is absolute.every thing is seen in light of some pre decided perspective.
ReplyDeleteso sometimes one side looks ok,and sometimes flip side gets nod.
Very well said, nice and excellent, perceptions are perceptions never right never wrong. Keep it up keep writing well and nice.:)
ReplyDeleteMost of us don't give a flip about the flip side because we're so sure everything that matters is on the side we see or the side we're on!
ReplyDeleteLot of truth in your post!
Very good poem :)

ReplyDeletei digg it. keep up the good work dont let any one tell you different what you do with words is special so FB please thank you http://your-movieticket.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful and thought provoking poem this is!
ReplyDeleteThe question you took up in this poem is so relevant,we do turn a blind eye to the thoughts and opinions of other people, though it might be subconsciously but still the voice which echoes in this poem summarizes of what we really should do-
"What is wrong ?
What is right ?
Not much
but at least we can try
To give a thought on
Flip Side."
lovely read:)
keep writing:)
That is very deep, and true. But sometimes if you look at the other side, u could become too absorbed with the other spectrum and end up losing yourself on the way. This is a very complex matter, it's like if u do your damn if you don't you are still damned. What a conundrum!!
ReplyDeleteIt should be but it never happens ... good post !
ReplyDeletegreat lines...I can say that it's ur brighter side of life.....
ReplyDeleteIt's the perception that matters......

we see what we want to see. we hear what we want to hear. its a constant fight between stimulus and response ! we try to fit things in our own system of beliefs. Mere acknowledgment of the existence of flip side can do the majic and we can see bigger picture, better picture or the hidden ! There is nothing like making an informed or evaluated choice , but its not so easy nor possible all the time ! it makes life interesting and confusing !!!
ReplyDeletenice!!
