Hello EQUALITY

Honore de Balzac said-
"Equality may perhaps be a right, but no power on earth can ever turn it into a fact."

Quotes like this hit the nerves of society. The very moment I read it, all the fundamental rights, multifarious directive principles, fancy laws, duties and typical textbook statements flashed right in front of my eyes and then the long phase of mentation kicked in. Wide eyed I stared in the void for answers.

Is EQUALITY an illusion which we all have agreed to agree upon ?
Or its just an imagination which is too good to be true ?

Is all of this
a ruse
or an instrument
to infuse, the confuse
in bleak minds.
or its to add
layers and layers of
faux hopes
and murky blinds.

Color, caste
fails to cease.
but there's panoply
of laws to
brag about and appease.

Gender inequality
raises scandalous
questions on
humans and humanity.
History and geography
filled with scars.
For many, safe havens
are too far.

But, the one that
aches most
is the money
n the power
Whose host
outfoxes all.
Below whose knees
everyone fall.
Brings forth
an abyss of status
deepest of All.

Parameters are many
none can be ignored.
But
It won't do any good
to bring them up.
As they are relative
and too curved
to keep up.

PS: It doesn't mean that there's an absolute chaos and mayhem all around. People all over the planet have managed to reduce INEQUALITY in all spheres to some levels. But still there are many stumbles to cross and miles to go. All we can do is hope.  It's the luxury which everyone can afford and the best thing about HOPE is, it costs nothing.

Phoenix Rising

Restart, reboot, rejuvenate, refresh all signifies a fresh beginning. Keeping the past aside and starting all over again. Like a Phoenix, you wish to rise again and fly to new heights. All new, young and fresh.
Who doesn't want this ?
We all do.

I turn my head to sky rains falling,
wash the wounds of numbness from my soul.
Turn my heart in tides of fierce renewal,
where love and rage run whole.
Come drink deep.~ Carolyn McDade

A start, to embark on all over again.
A thought, to muse and ponder again.
To have a fresh look
of ideas inside.
For corrections n amends
on all that you tried.

To change the mood
n change the look.
Untie those intricate knots
and search
for chains to unhook.
Repaint the walls
and refine the approach.
all you need is a better focus
and deeper encroach.

These steps are vital
for revival.
Mistakes- your biggest rival.
Make sure they doesn't stand a chance
this time, because.
This is the time to
evolve n enhance.

Good and Evil

"He who fights monsters should see to it that he himself does not become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you."
— Friedrich Nietzsche, Beyond Good and Evil

I've always wondered how brilliant minds fall prey to ills and evils ? How a person with high credentials and intellect slips deep down in their moral behavior? How our leaders and executives and all other people with great power and much greater responsibility go past their standards and do some heavy nasty things.

Corruption, bribe, cheating are just the popular ones there are so many holes in their armors that it seems impossible to imagine that sometimes back, they used to hold one. How this transformation of good into bad takes place ? Is it an instant process or gradual ?

Men and women with great passion and hard-work pave their ways to high places. They turn their day n night in studying and creating a personality which segregates them from general mass. They are seen with respect, are tagged with wisdom, knowledge and discretion. Then how this well-informed, educated and trained mind gets distracted ?

Nobody is born bad. Initially we all are same delicate, childlike, spotless innocent creatures. Than what makes us good n bad ? Is it the genetic make-up, deeds we do, things we say or the people around us ? Is there no way of knowing, detecting and sensing this braniac pollution? When and how its going to attack ? Its symptoms or side-effects ?

Questions are many and so are the answers. But none helps. This monster is growing, and its growing with speed higher than ever. Some are resistant, some are resilient. But for how long ? We all know how great technologies which we proud today, helping us in building our nation, uniting it and controlling it, can be used disastrously if got in wrong hands. How some people bend rules. How the laws and rights are misused ? How the data [which we believe to be encrypted and super-safe] collected in the name of protection and benefits and fast and easy transactions holds the capability of stalking and monitoring our each and every move ?

How the things/rules/laws and people which were once good turn into some friendly monsters. Those who are fighting against it, how long before they fail to abstain ?

PS: Sorry for not being so active these days. Got exams... But, will be back again soon. Till than tckr !!!

DREAMS

DREAMS we all have one or may be many and there's no lower or upper bounds. Squeeze or expand, totally a personal choice. It keeps us going. Dreams forms the rock foundation of our aims and goals for which we work all the time. Everything we do is to bridge this gap that exist between the dream and reality. If anyone tells you he/she doesn't have one. Shake that thought off of your mind, because it's impossible.

Realm of dreams is colorful, vivid and vibrant and it's beyond anyone's comprehension. A daily wage labor wish to have a one-time meal and he/she works whole day long to get that. Cars, home, job, gadget, position, power, love, peace, trophy and what not. Its everything you ever wished for and than you devise elaborate plans and tricks to get that. Like your personal brand of paradise where you have everything you can ever crave for.

Your whole life revolves around it. Schedules and routines, your reading habits, music, movies and everything else are just stepping stones. Helping you in different ways to have that taste of satisfaction. You are working for that round the clock consciously/unconsciously.

There are times when you feel lost and blue. Disoriented you wander here and there and then somebody or something gives you inspirational kick. For some, other factors work too. Anger or desperation can work in favor in such situations. All you need is control and focus and then you're back in race.

I am numb but i can still feel you
Sometimes I’m blind but I see you
You are here but so far away.

I’m on a course of collision
Am not about to give in
Can’t explain my position or the condition that I’m in.

Where I am is no limit, no walls, no ceilings

No intermission
, so let the Party begin ~ Enrique

Words are powerful. No one can deny that. They have this extreme power of persuasion. One can come out of any misery with the help of some spoken or written words. Motivation is the biggest driving factor to achieve your dreams and one should keep taking it in bits n pieces from time to time. Don't let your dream get covered with rust and dust.

Your swords grown old and rusty
Burnt beneath the rising sun
Its locked up like a trophy
Forgetting all the things its done ~ Vampire Weekend

One poem that has inspired me in past few days is
Invictus- William Ernest Henley

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

I am working hard for my dreams and I wish that all of you do the same and we all will live our dreams in reality. :)

Irregular Minds

"Brain is complex" oftentimes I use this statement. Those who read me regularly might have read this statement many times before in my previous posts. Reason is I've always been intrigued by its unpredictable and anarchic nature of operations. There is no way of knowing what other person is thinking and how he/she is catching the drift of what you are trying to say. Its like a shot in the cimmerian shade and you never know whether its going to hit the target or not.

Everyone's thinking is unique, that's an established fact. Each one of us have our brains wired differently and logically this only makes us one of a kind  person. What one thinks is right is never necessarily right for others too. You can play the game of "I'm right and You are wrong" endlessly with ones who have contradicting thoughts. Its like everyone have this personal process of cerebration and deductions and its not at all easy to understand. But here lies the problem too.... there are people who have this intricacy trait of highest order. Like some impossible mathematical theorem and byzantine tax structures their fortress of mind is impenetrable.

Like Shakespeare says in Macbeth-
"There's no art to find the mind's construction in the face."

What she thinks
is unknown to me.
It's like some constant
trick played on me.
What I said and
What she got.
I never got to know
what she actually thought.

I shot the arrow
but its a hit or a miss,
is a mystery
lost in abyss.
Like a test of a subject
you never read before.
Its preposterous to predict
how much you gonna score.

This mind is master
it devises whole thing round.
In pool of thoughts
either you float or you drown.
It is complex
I know deep down.
Still I try, and
when I find squat
I just frown.

Like that we always use our best of communication skills to convey our brainworks and musings to others but trying to know that how that person in front is taking it, is like executing an infinite loop. In computers when we encounter an infinite iterative piece of code either we terminate the program or we debug it and correct the logical error. But perceptions and thoughts ain't some computer program and you can't change its variables and debug errors. They are simply irregular minds with different development and different design processes and in order to understand this complex process, all you can do is.. NOTHING. Because understanding is like a WINE, it ripens more and more with time.

Broken Windows

.... one unrepaired broken window is
a signal that no one cares, and so
breaking more window costs
nothing.
                                                                                                    ~James Q. Wilson &
                                                                                                       George Kelling.

I don't know how many of you are aware of this "Broken Windows" theory but when I read about it, I found it very occupying. It was like all the dots were connecting to produce a more clearer picture and I was able to correlate it with different levels of our life. Like a universal law it was there in all forms and at all places.

So before few of you scratch your head over, What the heck this Broken Window is ?
Broken Window  in real world symbolizes any fallacy or wrong doing you can ever imagine. Whether its a lil lie to someone, some unchecked/ignored error in your finances, breaking traffic rules on road, giving bribe, stalking, stealing, kvetching, bad decisions, poor behavior, misconduct, treason  and so on... A tiny slack from your part and there is this sub-conscious understanding inside your cerebra that..... there's an escape, whether knowingly or unknowingly chances of you doing it again increases exponentially.

Why ?
Because in most of the cases neither you nor the people around you care enough to repair that broken window and than this signal that no one cares resides somewhere deep down in your head. It tempts you to do it again, explore new avenues of it. Trust me this temptation is too enticing to refute. Most of us give up in no time and we create an unstable and figurative neighborhood full of broken windows.

Don't we all are really doing this to ourselves. Well functioning system is just an illusion, in reality things are messed up pretty bad. When watched carefully it's not just the neighborhood, but the whole city and country at large is loomed with infinite instances of broken windows. It's all in human behavior. When we see someone transgressing the law, even under the watchful eyes of a helpless policeman, we don't even care once to follow that same rule. Instead we break another window in the array of broken ones.

Initially "Broken Windows" was just a study on criminal behavior but I guess we all are sane  enough to admit that each one of us fall under this radar. So called- Common Man is the real player in action here and when this common man witnesses such broken windows in large numbers committing  bigger wrongs(crimes) with no feeling of remorse whatsoever comes naturally. There's no logic to this deviated behavior. It's just it. The devil is inside us, growing monstrously with each passing day.

Negligence is the biggest offense, which we all contravene on daily basis. Instead of correcting [ repairing broken windows]  we somehow find ways to encourage it. This ideology has seeped deep down in our veins and we are running out of time to flush it out.  We grow up hearing "apne aap se matlab rakho, jyada netagiri karne ki koi zaroorat nahin hai" i.e " Don't bother about what others are doing, whether its wrong or right, just keep things to yourself. Don't mess up".  With time we become so obsessively  protective of ourselves that in order to  maintain this comfy status we can cross any possible limit and yeah here comes in action, the main protagonist of our story - our beloved corruption

Zero Tolerance
It was the Broken Window theory which laid the foundation of zero tolerance in law enforcement. What I suggest here is that we all have to enforce this idea of Zero Tolerance in our personal lives at individual level. Its not the major deadly crimes but small tolerable crimes that poses big threat to our country's stability and integrity. Let's not modify our behavior into the apathetic one. Just because we Indians believe in karma, afterlife and we worship millions of Gods and Goddesses and we are basically god fearing and can therefore be pardoned for committing lesser infractions. This is not done.

We need to fix these broken windows as soon as we discover them. If we can't fix it than least we can do is label it up for future reference. Don't leave it unattended. For starters experiment on yourself than your family and friends. May be not in months but in years you'll see the change. Change which you can proudly show off to others. Let's make our neighborhood a place of order and fun where you can live happily ever after.

So what do you guys gonna do about the broken windows of your neighborhood ???
You are going to sit tight or you are planning to repair it .

Beginnings

Brain the most knotty and intricate object to understand. I don't even dare to learn how it processes zillions of things simultaneously. One moment you are thinking of this and BOOM... next moment something else totally unrelated and discrete. All this happens in fraction of seconds... Well this post has nothing to do with functioning or facts of brain.... so those who hate biology and its details can harmlessly continue further :P

Point is-> We think a lot, we plan in loads. Gotta  do this n that. Need to buy this, need to learn that song, try that piece of music, to get a dress, need to finish the book, complete the syllabus  and list can go on like some never ending railway tracks. I don't know about you all but scads of my time exhausts in trying to decide Now, What next and than whole planning and soi-distant thought process starts all over again.

 Biggest hiccup is the BEGINNING.

[ Biggest road block]- is to get started, not at all easy to cross. Whether you wanna start substantiating a time table, an exercise, a book or anything. This initial callow phase is the time when you are more likely to leave it and hop to some another one. [ I've lost the count of the times I've started going for morning walk...... initial fun days and than... well rest is better left unsaid :P]. Getting started is fine, but to keep that pace and carry on further is the real catch. Darn those days when the whole enthusiasm and zeal withers and you end up with squat.
The beginning is the most important part of the work- Plato.
I think, I start
I train my brain
to begin.
But, then again
the train of thoughts
kicks its engine
and lefts me
wandering in the voids
Keep Thinkin..

I've an infinite store
Of placebos and excuses.
This brain is inured
it never confuses .
I plan, I proceed
I train my brain
to begin.
But the bells
of "new things"
Keep Ringin..

I can go on
I don't.
Games of push and pull
and paper, scissor, rock.
I puzzle, I daze
I train my brain
to begin.
Time pass by
and hands of the clock
keeps Tickin..

Beginning is the stage
hard as nails I guess.
Its cryptic
tough to stick.
I devise, I decide
I train my brain
to begin.
But, this time
train got brakes
It got a driver
I'm the one who
is Drivin...

Well habits can change. If our benighted ancestors can learn to tame wild animals, I think we can train our fiendish brain to behave in our own terms. I'm gonna try at least.

So you guys ever faced this much touted problem of -getting started and than keeping it up ???
